Welcome to exciting world of inter networking. First i will explain you what is network? . It is very important to understand what is network.

Network: Network is interconnection of communication devices.

Now question arises what are the communications devices?

Communication devices: Computer , Router ,Switch ,Hub,Servers etc. These are devices which is to create network.

Now Internet work Classified basically in three parts.

1) LAN    Local area network
         

          Definition : LAN is logical explanation of how big network can be called as local. 

2) WAN   Wide Area Network

                Definition: Two or more computers or network which are geographically separated and not lies in same metro city then it is called WAN network.

3) MAN   Metropolitan Area Network 

                 Definition: Two Communicating devices or network which are geographically seprated but lies in same city called as MAN Network.
